CaMab-Drug Combinations

Antibody drug combinations for reversal of multidrug resistance: We have discovered that the Glyoxylate shunt plays a central role in resistance in pathogens particularly in oxygen limiting conditions the pathogens are subjected to in the human host. Using neutralizing antibodies to the transporters that feed C4 metabolites to this pathway we reversed the resistance to multiple drugs in P aeruginosa. This can be used as an option to control infection in critically ill patients using the existing drugs. These findings are being extended to other drug resistant pathogens as well using a different set of antibodies.
